Focus..

Jesus..  Easter is a good reminder of what it all comes down to.  Life comes from Him, the Author of Life who gave his life so that we might have abundant life in Him.

Thank You for the cross, Lord. 

 Easter is also a great time to talk to kids about what is important.  Easter eggs are fun to colour, but what is their importance in the whole story?  God created the chickens and the eggs, He is our Provider.  Colour is from Him.. the ability to see the beautiful colors, mix them together to get new ones..

But it's the wonder of the God who loves us, who came down to earth to love us and show us how to love that really makes the Easter story.  His death, His resurrection!  His power over sin and death has made us holy and given us new life.  His beauty and goodness is everywhere around us to discover.

Thankfulness is the key to unlock the joy in every moment.

I'm thankful for kids with energy and kid-awe over spring grass..

 For a husband who never complains about the never-ending projects adding to his already busy work load.. who always has time for his kids.. who loves the outdoors his Creator made for him to enjoy!

 For a helpful girl wanting to make nesting easy for the birds this spring...

 For the beauty of natural lighting to make creation more beautiful..

 For the opportunity to know and celebrate 10 birthdays with Troy.. His 33rd birthday was great and full of love for him. (Here is his gift from his parents!)

 For the never ending excitement of opening gifts, no matter what age we are!

 For promises that always come.. building trust in young hearts.. and tons of joy!

 For beautiful smiles...

 For the humor in sad smiles...

 And cranky faces...

 For patience and love and understanding.. Knowing when to stop..

And most of all, I am thankful for what God is teaching me about focus.  Focus on Him, not situations.  JOY and PEACE are so much more worth stress and anxiety.  He is able.. more than able..

And His power is made perfect in weakness.  Such foolishness to the world, but not to God.
