Our new home in Golden..

It's been awhile since we've blogged... sorry about that, but facebook is easier and faster to post pictures on so that's where you can usually see more recent photos of us. But here's the update for now:

We moved to our new home in Golden, BC on Oct. 1st. We love it here: the mountains are gorgeous, there are so many outdoor activities on hand that we love such as mountain biking, rafting, skiing, a good church to go to, a good community to be involved in, and the houses were still a good price............. so that's why we're here and it's been better than we imagined!

Makenna has started walking! She is such a good baby! So active! Our new house is so big that I can lose Makenna in it. She can be so quiet when she's exploring and playing so I'll have to go find her. Her latest object that has caught her interest is the toilet and the toilet paper. It is so fun for her to unroll all the toilet paper on the roll.. and to stick things in the toilet, like her teddy bear! It's especially yucky when 'someone' (Troy) forgets to flush and I find Teddy swimming in a yellow pool! That teddy has been through the wash a bunch of times already.. hopefully we'll learn to keep doors closed so yucky exploring is avoided.

We have some friends that are living with us for the time being... because our house, even just the upstairs, is too big for just us three. Amy, Sacha and Aslan (the dog we dog-sat awhile back is living with us again!) are great to have around. Both of us couples have our own rooms and bathrooms but we share the kitchen and living areas. It's fun... we take turns cooking dinner and having extra eyes keeping a watch out for Makenna is great!

Halloween was a big extravaganza (spelling?) here. Our friends love halloween so we made a tunnel of horror the kids had to pass through to get to our door. Kids love getting scared.. Sacha would say boo and make them scream and then Troy would start up the chainless chainsaw and chase the kids up the driveway... We also ate too much candy... What is the purpose of this dress up holiday? And why is it such a big deal? Makenna was cute as a little frog; at least she was warm. It was cold enough to snow and the next morning we woke up to snow everywhere.

Makenna has finally experienced the snow... and she loves it! Especially taking off her mitts to touch it and stick it in her mouth! She is so cute in her poofy snowsuit!

We are planning a big trip to Thailand from November 13-Dec 15. It will be nice spending time with my parents and sisters.. and finally have Makenna meet her aunties! Please pray for travel safety for us as it's a long flight for a 1 year old, and as we go to a new country with different germs to catch.

So that's the update for now.. I'll try to update more often. I hope there are people that still read this blog...
